DDHeroes includes three strategy game modes for iOS platform:
- Kingdoms mode: You rule the world by defeating all other heroes and capturing all of their castles. Inspired by Jon Van Caneghems Heroes of Might and Magic II.
- Dungeon mode: You travel to the 26th subterranean floor of the dungeon, retrieve the Amulet of Yendor and return with it to the surface. Based on Brian Walkers Brogue.
- Cave mode: You explore a mysterious cave that is rumored to be filled with treasure and gold. Based on Willie Crowthers Colossal Cave Adventure.
